Default Poormans Superbird ????

Do any of remember the movie "CORKY" starring Robert Blake? It featured a 69 Cuda with a Superbird wing. Looked pretty good.

I've been following the Cud section on Ebay for the past few weeks and noticed that you can pick up a 68-69 Cuda worth the money. some of them are pretty decked out.

What if you were to take one of them and add the wing and a few other goodies to make a poor mans Suoperbird or a flying fish?
It wiuld be neat to see one of 'em on the road.

Superbirds are not cheap and the clones are even getting a lot of money but this way you have you cake and eat it too. What do you think?

You want an opinion. I would probably laugh more then admire. People did weird thing to cars in the '80's. These cars are getting to rare to screw around like that now. Although it would be your car and you do as you please, I would expect more people would wonder what on earth was the guy thinking. You might as well put side pipes on it and fuzzy dice. Sorry for the opinion but I just don't see it.

Now look at this car. Its a 1969 Road Runner with a rediculous paint job. Imagine owning that now. Oh by the way I owned that car back in 1980.[sm=yikesomg.gif]

Well it was unique looking. I sort of liked it at the time. I bought it in York, Pa for $1150.00, drove it to Vegas in 1982(Air Force Duty). It had two Holleys on an Offy intake, 509MP cam and a Dana/w a 4 spd. That's were the car stayed when I left. That pic was taken in Vegas in 1983 or so. I bought it with that paint job by the way. Oh, it ran pretty good for a 383 car. Somehow with my limited knowledge back then of 'proper' combing parts for the best performance it held its own. With that Offy high rise/two holleys and that .509 cam it really didn't come on strong until 3000rpm but I still remember how it pulled after that. Oh and a cheap set of 'Black Jack Aluminum Coated' Headers to boot. What a circus wagon!!! Oh the days gone by!!!![sm=gears.gif]

I cannot stand to see people putting Superbird wings on regular Roadrunners without adding the nose cone as well, let alone see that wing put onto a Cuda or any other Mopar.

I had a'68 Barracuda back in 1982-83 it had what we called "organ pipes" on it. they were side pipes with 4 outlets on each side. They exited in front of the rear wheels, and had little elbows that you could attach so that the exhaust would go up rather than out. This was a [sm=badidea.gif] because the hot exhaust started to damage the paint, and when it rained the exhaust would fill with water. That made for some good laughs when the engine started, but it probably wasn't good for the car.

Oh, yeah!!!! That's what I'm talking about. That's the look for the late '70's-early '80's....... Can't say I ever saw side pipes on a Superbird but it doesn't suprise me either. I've seen them on Road Runners, Nova's, Chevelle's,Vette's, Torino's,CJ-7 Golden Eagle Jeeps, etc. Nice Pic!!!!!!![sm=hail.gif]
