Nice! I'm getting the K & N Xtreme lid for mine as well, I've been trying to choose between black and chrome though, they both look good and have their own advantages. You might want to do yourself a big favor and get rid of that flex fan before disaster happens. I had a nice Flex-A-Lite one on my Roadrunner until a blade broke off while it was running, thankfully I was simply idling through a parking lot at the time and not on the freeway or under the hood. They flex against the thicker support arms that they are riveted to and after a while they will weaken and break at that point and you cannot see it unless you flx the blades with your hand and look for it. After it happened I checked the other blades by flexing them by hand and 3 of the remaining blades were split right along that part and could fly off at any moment. Either get the one piece plastic flex fan or go with the Mopar Performance viscious fan package which has been dyno proven to free up more horsepower than a typical flex fan.

Can't verify any real performance gains but I love the look of my K & N Extreme. The viscious fans don't fit my set-up. It's about 1 1/2" too long. I check things like fan blades as part of routine maintenance along with coolant hoses, fuel lines, fan belts, wiring harness, etc. That way I can catch things before they become a serious problem.

That just goes to show the differences between the bodys and the years, mine actually has the spacer to keep it up close and personal to the radiator.

Hi 71,

Not only is your car absolutely OUTSTANDING, but I also know that not many folks really know how much work that you have to do to make a 33+ year old car look that good! It looks like it just rolled off of the assembly line!

That it is.[sm=exactly.gif] Yours too is quite outstanding![sm=smiley20.gif] I want so badly to be able to get mine done the way I've always wanted, but that requires a ton-o-money.[:@][&o] It will be done though, I just don't know when.

71RR,
Yes your engine pics and the entire car for that matter is very sharp. One of the cleanest '71's I've ever seen and I love the color!![sm=smiley20.gif]

Thanks. The camera hides alot, there are many bad spots that need taken care of where rust has taken it's toll. I'm hoping to at least get new wiring and carpet if nothing else, both are old and the carpet is faded.

fc7gtx,
You have noticed that your GTX is up for the Ride Of The Month this month haven't you? I voted for your GTX a couple days ago and it is official today that you've won. Congratulations![sm=groupwave.gif][sm=icon_cheers.gif][sm=icon_rock.gif]

Well, I finally got the K & N Xtreme air filter lid I've been wanting and I went with chrome instead of black. Here are a few pics of it with the K & N lid:
