Charger SRT-8 That thing got a Hemi? Indeed, a 6.1L Hemi that is. The Dodge Charger SRT-8 pounds the pavement with severe power.

Default SRT-8 Charger in dealer system, go get'em

Well, folks, it's in there. I saw the screen at my dealer. 43K loaded with all three SRT option groups, however, we could not determine if that included the gas guzzler tax.

Not SRT-8 Chargers. Magnums, yes. But not the Chargers.

Better update this. They are indeed in the system, but not for order. So you can see it, and configure it with options and see the price, but not place an order. BTW, pricing is released. Base without Gas Guzzler Tax = 35,995. Loaded with GGT = 43k.

It just cracks me up that the Magnum doesn't get the GGT. I think you get to save something around $2K!! That's a lot of gayus.

Not really, since the MSRP on the Mag is 37,999, 2K higher. And performance and handling will be a hair down due to weight, and the suspension setting not being quite as hardcore as the Charger SRT.

But not really, as that $2k goes to Dodge and not the blood sucking bureaucrats.

43k for the SRT charger? Is that the dealer price? I can sure bet that the dealers will tack alot more money on top of that because of the hot popularity of this car! I remember when the SC2000 Honda coupe came out, dealers will tacking as much as 10k on top of the MSRP price and the consumers were still willing to pay for it.

Does it matter where it goes? Your still paying it. Kensai, it depends. Some dealer will indeed try to do the ol' Vaseline Tango. My dealer told me flat out that any SRTs he ordered would have a 5K markup. But customer ordered cars would not. At least not mine.

Before I changed my mind and decided to wait for the 07s, I had financing in hand, and had worked out the deal for sticker, $500 deposit. Also, keep in mind, that number is completely loaded, all three SRT option packages, red paint, and a sunroof.

Nowadays with gas prices at an all time high, and the gas guzzler tax on top of that, I cannot justify paying an additional markup such as 10k!!!! 5k?? maybe, I know dealers have to eat and make a living like the rest of us, but 10k is going over the edge for me!! That'll take this SRT8 into the 50's range and for that price, I'll look at other exotic cars within this price range. Heck, might as well settle for the SRT10 Viper Truck.
