Sarguy has a great point. My Demon and Coronets only have five wheels for the odometer. My Demon had 38,000 but the timing chain told a different story and most likely had 138,000 mile on it.

I thought I read about the motor home engines in Mopar Collectors Guide, but it was Mopar Muscle Magazine.

to small for what? it depends on what you are doing. to many people put to of cam in street driver. for a daily driver use no more than .430 valve lift. or 368 degrees max. advertised, NOT at.050 lift.

A compression and leak-down test should tell which motor is less worn. I expect the 1997 360 is a Magnum engine (5.9L) w/ "barrel keg" intake and MPFI, plus roller lifters. Many put those in Darts. You will need a V-8 K-frame and 360 car mounts, or Schumaker conversion mounts ($$). 1968 may need the $20 adapter ring to mate your torque converter to the larger engine crank hole, or maybe 1967 was the dividing year. Probably can't use the truck or MH trannys since usually too long. Probably need a bigger 8-3/4 rear end since your 7-1/4 won't last behind a 360. Those are usually the later big bolt pattern, so change your whole front suspension to that or carry 2 spare tires.
