Default Illegal Tint

I live in Tennessee and here our illegal tint law is 35% or over. I have 5% all the way around and got a ticket for it the other day. Has anyone on here ever gotten pulled over and had a reason to keep them from getting a ticket? I have sun sensitive eyes but that didnt work. Someone told me a commercial tag but other people have said no. . I dont want to remove my tint unless i absolutely have to. Hope to hear some good responses. Thanks!

If you can get a doctor to certify that you really got "sensitive eyes" your good to go!!!

You generally need to have that certification before you tint your windows, too. However, that is usually more for when you cannot have tint somewhere on the vehicle in which you would, for your "sensitive" eyes. For example, out here in CA where there is NO tint allowed on the front windows.

instead of trying to skirt the LAW, be compliant. you got caught, so fix it!!! don't be asking people to help you do something that is illegal or move to a state that allows that tint (maybe AZ?)

all you're doing is putting up a big flag for the police to have a reason to pull you over. is it worth the hassle so you can look cool?

Well here in TN about 50% of trucks have 5% tint all the way around, im not the only one, trust me. Because of my eyes I cant strip the tint off though, the sun is too bright for me to drive without it in the summer. But I didnt know how to go about getting a letter for that. Thanks dakota_raven for helping out with that. Im not keeping the tint on there to look cool, i have it for reasons. Another being I dont want strangers seeing in my vehicle and thinking about stealing something like my purse or radar detector.

I would remove the front windshield tint and all you have to do is roll down you front windows if you get pulled over. I have my front windows tinted and got pulled over by a state trooper and he could have cared less. The front windshield deeply tinted is dangerous in the dark and I know it is hard to see with my side windows tinted when I am making a hard left onto streets,

In GA our tint law is 35% +/- 3%. However you can get a form and take it to the eye doc and have him sign off on it and it will allow you to get 20% +/- 3%.

Yep, go see your eye doctor. If your eyes are as sun sensitive as you say, you should have no problem getting him to give you the proper paperwork to allow for your tint...
