Yes it works. It's not hard. You can use sandpaper and water and the use a polish like rubbing compound and it's the same. the toothpaste trick works also. It was shown on a episode of "TRUCKS". Just use plain old white toothpaste and a rag and then polish it!

It does take a measure of skill to use any multiple step kit. That's one reason why results can vary. The worst kits are the hand sanding kits, they almost always give bad results.
