Default 2007 6.7L Diesel DPF Questions

I'm interested in getting rid of all of the exhaust filters and regeneration stuff. Wondering what all I'm gonna have to do.

I know the following:
DPF delete pipe
Smarty Programmer

What else is needed to do this without hurting my truck.

Default Im with you!

I have an 08 6.7L and I want to do the same, but remember to keep all of the stuff you pull off. If you have to smog it you will have to put all that back on before you head down to the smog shop or you fail. All the after market stuff for later model diesel are illegal in all 50 states unless used in closed circut comp! LOL. I say go for it. When was the last time you saw a guy pulled over and some cop looking under the truck for illegal exhaust? All this regen and DPF crap is choking the true potentional of our diesel engines!

can they pull you over if you are registered out of state (or out of country) and fine you if you have deleted?

You're going to want to get rid of the EGR too, on 07-09 you have to remove it but on '10 and newer you can just disable it in software.

EGR delete, DPF delete, and a programmer. If you're going to turn up the fuel pressure with a programmer you'll want to get a fuel rail relief valve shim as well.

Keep all of your bits - if you have to put it back to stock for any reason, you're looking at nearly $10k worth of exhaust crap to purchase.

In theory, you could get fined no matter where you register your truck, no matter where you drive. You're violating federal law.

how much trouble can we get in if a police officer or transport does look under the vehicle and finds out you did dpf delete?

does it vary from state to state or province to province?

Do you live in California? Most of the country it's not a worry unless you have emissions testing, but SoCal is the only place I've heard of people getting pulled over for vehicle inspections (and usually it's ricers with 8" fart cans sticking out the back of their Civics).

How much trouble could you get in? Last I heard it was something like a $10k fine, possible impound of your vehicle, etc. It's federal law, so it doesn't matter where the truck is.

They have to prove that you actually removed it yourself before they can fine you. Or catch you in the act of removing it.

Tell that to anyone who has ever been cited for illegal equipment, and had their cars impounded.
