Pulled this code..correlates with having a intermittent but obvious jerking (like a misfire would feel) only while in drive either at a light or driving low speeds. I'm worried because I add my own DEF fluid and don't want to be declined warranty service. I'm at 24308 miles
Does DEF go bad in truck?

 

It has a shelf life........ think it's a couple months...... I would have a chat with the dealer, and see what they have to say.

 

So are you saying that DEF that is in the tank can go bad? I have a 2013 3500 and put less than 9K per year mileage. I get about 5,000 per DEF fill up. I fill up about every 7 months on DEF. I only buy it at the pump at major truck stops. Do I need to be worried that it may go bad before I fill up again?

Also why the concern about filling you own DEF? Do they think we are going to go back to the dealer every time we need a DEF fill up?
