Default ipod sizes for arm rest holder

Has anyone actually used the arm rest ipod holder? Will it accommodate the nano as well as it does the classic ipod? Will the nano fit with it being in a case? Stupid question, but I was thinking of actually getting with the times and buying an ipod.

I really enjoy my Caliber and generally happy with most aspects of its design
but the Ipod holder is really out in left field. They could not have driven
the test mules with any device in it as it will do nothing but get in your way.
People with the 5 spd trannies have got to hate them,I stuck my garage door
opener in it and that all I use it for after trying Ipod and cellfone without
much success.

Functionality is questionable but it does hold a 80 gig Zune which is the widest they come.

The rubber sleeve is easy to remove in order to gain
some wiggle room.

It is very tight. But I grab the sides of the arm rest holder to open it a little. So it is very snug. I leave it on random so I dont take it out much.

Has anyone tried using the i-pod holder in the arm rest of the Caliber for their cell phone? Depending on the type, I would imagine that could work with a power plug-in. Any repsonses?

Neither my Nokia 2610 nor my HTC Andvantage Smartphone/PPC fit it.
It holds the garage door opener!
