Unhappy No AWD in 09??

I just talked to a Dodge dealer last week and I was told Dodge will NOT make an AWD version of the Calibeer for 09. Plus I've also heard that there will be no Avengers in AWD in 09. Anyone else heard this? What the heck is Dodge thinking??
We have a 07 Jeep Compass 4x4 and I sure hope they don't follow suit. If so I'l have to get a Subbie when my lease is up.

Yes I too have read numerous posts on the different auto forums
I belong to that Chrysler LLC will cease making the Caliber and Avenger
in the AWD models but have not heard anything regarding the Jeep line.

About half way through the 2008 Caliber Model year you could no longer get an AWD model. Same was true with the Sebring and Avenger. I would assume this is because of the poor fuel milage all of the above get when configured with AWD. However...if you get a 2009 Avenger R/T, you can get AWD. Not sure about 2009 Sebring Limited AWD though.

I doubt they would drop any kind of AWD/4WD on the Jeep models. Kind of defeats the purpose of owning a Jeep if you ask me. The 2009 Compass/Patriot still retain 4WD as well as a brand new interior that is much nicer than previous model years.

I believe AWD for Caliber, Avenger and Sebring are going away. Found this article on motortrend.com.

It makes sense, percentage wise.

I wouldn't have got it on my Caliber even if it was available.
