Question CHAINS for 17" - Help!

Help! My owner's manual says that using tire chains isn't recommend for my '08 Caliber because of clearance. Looks like there's enough clearance at least for cable chains. How the heck am I supposed to get over the mountain passes if chains are required? Can I go ahead and use them? Has anyone else out there used them with success? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. I have never used tire chains, so I really can't say how they will fit for sure.
Perhaps a local chain dealer will let you test fit a set to see how they clear?

Default Thanks!

Thanks to those of you who replied! I ended up buying a set of snow tires AND chains, and the snow tires are working great so far. But I have the cable chains just in case!
