I would take it by the dealer and have them check the fluid if it has the CVT2 transmission. It's the only way to check it and the special fluid ain't cheap. About $30 a qt last time I checked. May just need a topping off, but you must have the Chrysler Star scan tool to do so. A good dealer shouldn't charge you anything to check the fluid level since they designed it this way.

As Mentioned, you'll have to take it to the dealership. I hope you bought this car New and have lifetime drive train waranty. These CVT gets replaced as whole unit, we don't rebuild or repair them, if the problem is the Trans itself.
Fluids are like $60 per gallon, not cheap.
If the problem is Electrical instead, it still not going to be cheap...
Did she bought any Trans Service from anywhere? wrong fluid?
honestly, I don't see CVT failure often. Good luck tho. Keep us updated

Do you know if the car is still under warranty? If it is,get the car in and have it looked at. If you don't know, call the dealer and give them the last 9 of your vin number.

Sorry for the delay.. Trani is fine... was a decaying wire above the drivers side wheel well.. you would think that someone would have shielded those wires from the road salt in the 1st place.... err... live and learn...
