Default U1146 Lost Communication with External Memory

Hi all

I have dodge caliber 2008 and there is a fault code on the transmission control module which is U1146 LOST COMMUNICATION WITH EXTERNAL MEMORY.

i changed the valve body and fault not erased

i changed the transmission module with a new one and program it in the agency and the same fault not erased

i checked the wiring and the connector harness three times including the valve body and the module and every thing is OK

Please can any one help me with this problem

Which engine and transmission do you have??

Those pins on that connector are teeny tiny. There's no way just looking at them can tell you anything. You need to do continuity checks and you need to do the pinout test for that DTC.

the engine is 2.0 vvt and the transmission is CVT

i checked the connector very good and i even remove the white cover on the pins and i reassembly the harness from the valve body to the tcm but i found nothing.

i ordered new valve body for the car to test on cause there is nothing else in my mind to do

please if any one have an idea or happened to him please tell me

Hi guys, I have the same problem code U1146 and I did the same changes all ready, solenoides, Valve body, tcm, we replace the internal cables, but I haven't replace the Internal Transmition EEPROM.Do you know which exactly the problem is?I have the same car , CVT tran,2.0 vvt engine , this is a '07. Thank you.
