Default Headlight goes out when turning 2008 Caliber SXT

The right headlight goes off when turning left or right in my 2008 Caliber SXT. The light comes back on when the car straightens out after the turn. This does not happen in curves, only left or right turns. Wiring behind the light is tight and the original lights have not been replaced. This does not happen on bumpy or gravel roads. Thanks.

Are you sure it isn't when you have that side of signal light turned on? The newer vehicles turn that running headlamp off to make it easier for on comming traffic to see that you have a signal light activated.

Could also be a problem with the multi-function switch in the column.
But as Cthulhu mentions, if you have DRL's, the light on the side where the turn signal is turned on, will go off. My Grand Caravan does this.

Thanks for the response. In fact the car has DRL and goes out when turn signal is activated.
