Default "limp" mode 2007 SE 2.0L

CVT fluid has been changed regularly, filter screen once replaced, also opened up the cooler once to check that it was clean (did that last summer when limp mode happened last time). Seemed to fix it.
But is happening now and was wondering if the radiator is clogged up somewhat. To tell the truth, I cannot remember flushing cooling system ever, now up to 189,000 miles. I am leary of the rad, aluminum made units seem to clog and need replaced sometimes. CVT cooler water does run through the rad.
Any thought on this issue?

It is possible that it could be partially clogged. I would have it professionally flushed to see if it helps. Or you could just replace it. Autozone shows a new one for $193.00.

Default CVT limp cont. fan controls

CVT tranny cooler is done by water from radiator, AND runs the CVT fluid thru a cooler type of radiator that is in front of the water radiator ( this rad is shared with the AC in front, top 1/3 the tranny, bottom 2/3 for the AC).
I took the plastic nose off the car to see lines and whats going on there.
Okay, seems the rad fans run only with AC on and the tranny top 1/3 cools off...but without AC on this tranny cooler gets quite hot, uncomfortable to hold my hand on it, engine full temp and outside this afternoon was around 80F degrees. So I am thinking it is too hot (with AC off) and this may be the limp mode is a problem and that is something with fan controls.
What temp. should these fans come on? I suppose it is sensored by the main water radiator temp. but need help to troubleshoot this. Thanks

I think the fans will come on at around 220* with the a/c off. The second thermostat doesn't open fully until around 203*

Default CVT radiator area fans

Right on the thermostats, I am replacing both Sat., also both temp senders and do a flush. Still don't know what to do with old antifreeze yet, just keep it untill I can find the right people (Advance doesn't take it).
MoPar parts ordered but if all that doesn't get those fans on I supposed to take it to a dealer...like I said while idle in the driveway @ full operating temp then turn on AC the fans come on and tranny cooler area is cooling off very well. Only with AC though.
Thanks, Rich

They make these new cars run hot to try to keep emissions low. It takes awhile for the fans to come on on our 09 as well. Usually when the temp gauge reaches the 1/2 way up line.
