Default RPM's question

Love my Caliber but have noticed that RPM's seem to hover at a lil over 2k when freeway driving. Last week made a trip to beach about an hour drive and transmission overheat light came on right at end. Stopped, turned car off restarted and it was gone. Also seems I have to help the gear to gear switch by letting off gas when accelerating. IM out of warranty now so before taking to dealership wanted to get an idea what I may be looking at.

How many miles on it? It may need the filters/special fluid changed. I would recommend a dealer for this work.

oh, and welcome to the forum.

Check your owners manual. It is probably due for a service.

I would recommend checking your transmission fluid as well.
