Hello, I'm sorry if this question has been asked before. I have searched for an answer on here but unable to find anything. My question, as silly as it may sound is, is there a correct procedure when it comes to replacing the battery on my Caliber SE 1.8 petrol. On my last vehicle (Peugeot 307) there was a certain procedure that had to be followed to ensure that the BSI unit wasn't 'fried'.
Is it just a case of disconnect the negative then the positive and put new battery on and then reconnect or is there something more I need to do? Also, apart from losing any stored radio channels, will the radio still work or will I have to put in a code?
Sorry if these have been asked before but it's better to be safe.

No special precautions.

 

No special procedure. The radio usually saves the presets, but you may have to reset the clock. The electronics will be fine.

 

remove the negative terminal first, then the positive.

removing the positive first is not safe...if your wrench hits a ground source when removing the positive cable...its will create a direct short to grd.
