My Dodge makes a constant whining noise. As I change through the gears (clutch in) the whine goes away, as I begin to release the clutch the whining comes back, the faster I go, the louder the whine until I get to fifth gear when the whine is as loud anymore (but still there). I’ve received two quotes from two different mechanics who have two different diagnoses.

Any help will will be greatly appreciated.

Can you tell where the noise is coming from? Checked trans fluid lately? How many miles on your Caliber?

 

What’s were the quotes for and what were the two different diagnosis’s? Your description is too vague.
