Angry Weird noise at slow speeds. Need help :(

Hello ! been a happy owner of a 2007 Caliber with 75k miles for many years without problems.

Since a few months ago it's making a weird noise at slow speeds. The noise feels like its coming from the pilot side mostly. It also can be heard if i put the car in neutral downhill. The sound goes away at highway speeds.

CVT transmission works fine without slipping or overheating or loss of power. Car runs perfect besides de noise ! I uploaded a video to youtube! link below! Any thoughts ?

Thanks for your help

Hello, You have two choices, One maybe a hub bearing and does it change pitch when turning the wheel left or right when driving. If the bearing sound doesn't change. It the bearing inside the transmission which the transmission need to be replace. There are just a few parts that can be replace on a CVT transmission. The bearing are not one of them. Check with your local dealer to see if there is a warranty Or pm me the last 8 of the vin and mileage.

Hello Master Tech, thanks a lot for your reply really appreciate it.

The noise doesn't change the pitch when turning the wheels if i kept a constant speed. The car it's in Venezuela and out of warranty. Going to the local dealer this week to check the transmission fluid level and see what they can do about the noise . There is no way to replace those bearings ? it is sad to replace a whole transmission for just a bearing, and very expensive to replace, it would be cheaper to buy another used Caliber here

Default Master tech I need help

I dont know how to msg you personally on here so I found your most recent thread. You seem quite knowledgeable on my issue. 2010 caravan 3.8 liter just bought. Idles at 700 in park neutral and dead stop. When driving and foot off the gas idles at 1000 and bounces to 1500 constantly. Real slight jerk when it shifts gears. And it hangs on the last rmps for a couple seconds then drops to 1000 and surges to 1500 back and forth until I brake real hard forcing the rmps below 1000 and then at a stop light it'll drop to 700 and stay until I get the rpms past 1000 then it's back to the surging and rev hanging. It's totally driveable but can be good. No codes. I have a thread I started today. Thinks its titled rev hang 2010 caravan.....any help would be great
