If I Most people hate the Charger cause of it's name and they are whiners, because their beloved Charger name has 4-doors now.

Just because the SRT-8, is not running 7's, doesn't mean it isn't race worthy. And I didn't understand that particular paragraph you wrote. I'm gonna skip that one. Hurts my brain to read that jibberish

Finally, you get it about gas milage, atleast I got through to you on one point.

I am not upset, more like aggravated that you don't understand, or "it's not good neough excuses for you". I said I had a headache one time and I actually did, because from what I was reading, and trying to understand you, it made my head pound... The way you have worded some things, makes it seems that you are. With your "fine", "whatever", "my god", "ok this is stupid", thinking I'm attacking you, using caps lock, saying I've insulted you. I haven't insulted you one time, nor attacked you. You keep calling this a battle...

It's not... Maybe you're not upset, but it sounds like it...

Now you say it's great to have a as a second vehicle and toys are great? Um, I didn't know you meant it as a first vehicle. Obviously if you are buying a 40k vehicle, you can afford another. But this is not what you have been talking about. You have said over and over that these people are fools and have more money than brain power... You haven't been talking about a 2nd vehicle. You've said the car doesn't serve a purpose at all.

Now talking to owners about why they bought it doesn't make sense? Ofcourse it makes sense, they are the one buying it. WTF LOL LMAO

ha ha here's a link... I'm done... like I said before, bugging a Neon owner about how owning a Charger SRT8 is pointless..... is... pointless.... listen to the people who actually bought one...

Sorry, but I'm going to ipen up the can of worms again.....[sm=bangbang.gif]

VulnoX...you want to know why and who would buy this car...Here is a situation.

A long long time ago...say the 1960s...I young man got his first taste of speed after he purchased a 64 GTO or a 66 Cornet...whatever. He built that car up and put a lot of work into it, but alas...he fell in love, got married, had kids and sold his beloved car. Throughout the 70s, 80s and 90s he spent his time driving in Minivans, economy cars or trucks...it doesn't matter. But now his kids are out of school and on their own. He now has the money to buy a new car and sees this Charger SRT8 with 425 HP and memories from his youth start comming back to him. He likes it because its an auto with available slap stick and 4 doors so he and his wife can get out of the car and not worry about hitting another car in the lot, but most of all he likes it because it has raw american muscle! So you see, this isn't really about needs but emotions and rememberance of days gone by...and that is why Dodge built this car and why people buy this car.

Any Dodge Dealers need a salesman???

Here's why I would buy a SRT8. Because I want one of those '60s Super Bees, RoadRunners, Baracudas et all. But I'm no mechanic and if I ever tried restoring one of them I'm sure I'd ruin it and or get myself killed. I like the modern motors. If I had the money I'd throw it a silver SRT8 in a heartbeat. I also like the 4-doors. I used to try to think an enthusiast and cry foul with the 4-doors, but eh, so what. It goes like a bat-out-of-hell and looks cool. I don't like the luxery part of it but I could tolerate that.[8D]

…are we talking about the SRT8? [&:]

what teh hell is wrong with you people. just because you don't care for a car doesn't mean u have to bash it. open your eyes and take off those neon tinted glasses and see teh beauty of this hatchback. and if anyone calls ti an SUV, you are just plain retarded.
That's funny Nick. The new ads hit Oregon last week. <It ain't pretty> is the tag line of the ad I saw... and fits the car well. Actually, though I'm not a fan of this car, I can understand that logic. People will buy Ugly... thus the big attraction of overpriced Jeep products. (I think there are still a few American Motors designers running around Chrysler.) Odd... I *never* saw a single ad for the Neon, in its many years of production. If my car hadn't been totaled out from under me, I'd never have known about this car.

This is probably spelling the early demise of Dodge's cloud cars. Dodge has little else to fall back on. Their RAM series is doing very well. Their mid point (in looks) is the very high performance station wagon... and we all know of the silly <it's a hemi> ads. (Sure, I want a 50 year old design in my new car!!!)

Dodge tried a performance economy car. Street word sold the car, and then they were shocked when it didn't work last year... w/o a single advertisement. (As if 20 somethings buy cars w/o being told they are kewel. <g&gt

What I don't understand is the new engine. The tranny <saves 8% on fuel>... and yet the car gets less mileage than the former 2 liter engine. Even the 1.8L engine gets worse mileage... and the 2L puts the car in price competition against the 40MPG Honda. (Honda has a kewel image, though the newest version of the Civic looks like something MOM would drive.) Unfortunately, none of them gets decent mileage by today's standards, where all 2006/7 cars are going to be getting 36+ MPG... and the AWD model, though kewel... doesn't stack up against the similarly priced Subaru.

So, we get advertisements. <It's not pretty>

What <the> f-ck <is> up <with> all <the> goddamn "<,>"'s??!

The HEMI is not a 50 year old design. The HEMI actually has a pentroof combustion chamber. Dumbass..

"Unfortunately, none of them gets decent mileage by today's standards, where all 2006/7 cars are going to be getting 36+ MPG... "

I f-cking wish....
Show my 10 cars out of "all the 2006/2007 cars" that get 36+ MPG....I'm serious

Some of these negative posts really amaze me. Up to now I have only really visited Ford forums, and I do not think I have ever seen so much knocking of inter-company vehicles in my life. I hate to see what some of you guys do to non-Chrysler brands.

I have always thought the Neon was ugly, the SRT twice as much because of that stupid (sorry) rounded wing in the back. YUK!
You do realize that Chrysler is no longer owned by an American company, right? It is Daimler Chrysler... or a foreign company to those that don't know otherwise. It will be in the US so long at its name tags bring in bucks. Actually, Honda and Toyota are as least as American... or North American, if you will.

Hmm... I assume you mean the SRT-4 wing. I agree... and had I bought one would also remove that ugly rear spoiler and that hood. (Besides, sleepers are kewel.) The SXT was available with or without the smaller spoiler and without that hood.

The first part confuses me because I never said anything about Chrysler being a US company or not, I re-read my post some five or six times too. Maybe you were talking about a previous post by someone else.

I am glad someone finally agrees with me about that damn SRT-4 wing. I have asked some SRT-4 owners why they keep the wing, and they have said they liked it. But I dont like any wings like that on vehicles, so I am kind of already on the negative side, but I still think the rounded wing design is pushing it as worst design for a wing possible.

I dont know where you got "It's not Pretty" when its actually "It's anything but Cute"

That is a big *** difference.

I have not met anyone except a couple people on this forum who think the car is ugly. So you dropping your opinion on that matter does not make it a fact.

Also, your gripe about the Hemi is stupid for the reasons posted above, but also for the fact that engines like the 4-cylinder have been around for that long or longer, so you must not have too much trouble with old designs. The Hemi is a proven design, it was used by Ford and Chrysler the most it seems like back when they were considered new. Ford 427 anyone? Great engine, still is.

Yes, the tranny saves fuel, but the car weighs more, I dont see how that is hard to figure out on your own. It also isnt a two door, like the Neon could come as, it also is taller, adding to drag and reducing aerodynamics. But instead you get AWD, more room, especially with fold down seating, a lot better leg room front and rear. I am 6'3" and I fit in the car, front seat or back seat, better than any other vehicle I have been in near the Caliber's size. I am not at all uncomfortable in it, the reclining seats in the back are nice too.

I agree, I dont see how all 2006/2007 cars are getting 36+. I have not seen many cars get that except some in highway mileage. The Ford Fusion is 26/32. The Honda's are something like 31/40. same with Toyota. And from what I hear, they dont meet those goals that well for people.

All cars means every car on the road, you said it by saying all cars. The Ford 500 does not get 36 MPG. The Charger doesnt, the 300 Doesnt, the Caliber doesnt, the Fusion doesnt, the LaCrosse doesnt, the Magnum doesn't, man I could go on and on.

Maybe a small grouping of cars can get 36+, and they are usually hybrid, which costs a lot more, or the most base of base engines.
