New Calibur commercial with farie
I have seen a commercial a few times now for the Calibur with a fairy changing things into toy-like items and then it trys changing the Calibur, but it doesn't work. Not a bad advertisment overall and kinda amusing, it's obvious they are trying to completely remove the happy Neons' "Hi" ads by making it seem more badass. I like the ad, especially the cute farie, but I'm still not into the Calibur though. Then again I couldn't stand the Neons when they came out for the first several years, yet their performance won me over when they brought out the R/T and I got ude to their looks, so I may change my mind in the future on the Calibur, only time will tell. Just wondering who else has seen the ad and their feelings and comments on it.
i saw it and liked t enough to go directly to the website to check out he caliber. 2 days later i test drove it, and now it is 1 of 2 cars on my list...(the 2nd is the honda fit coming out on april 15) i will be buying one of these cars during the week o april 15, based on the honda test drive. love the caliber. it knocked the matrix right off my list of possibles!
Wow ... [sm=happy046.gif] great feedback guys! I'm glad to hear it!
moonhunt@sonic.net, which model are you interested in? Did you build n price the Caliber on the Dodge.com website? What specific feature catches your eye?
Keep me posted

I liked the commercial. and FWIW - I found it online here Jalopnik.
The look of the Caliber in black is pretty nice looking. I really like the backend when the fairy flies up. I think Dodge did a great job with the look and the marketing for sure. I would like to test drive one in the next few weeks but still need to learn more about it.

If you are interested wildbill, let me know and I can send out a brochure on the Dodge Caliber to you, as well as pricing packages on all models.
PM me, and I can send it right away

I've seen the farie one so far, pretty funny, it's just to bad it doesn't have any performance to backup it's agresive looks, in the performance department its like driving a better handling Caravan, it's very slugish, far to much weight for the hp, the SRT-4 will be nice when it comes out but no auto, if the R/T had a more apropriate drivetrain like the PT cruiser GT's drivetrain (220hp turbo 2.4) with an auto I would have ordered one already, but I would get to frustrated driving a car that doesn't have enough power to get out of it's own way :/
Have you EVER driven on? Bothered to get off your lazy prejudiced *** and drive one? No. I didn't think so. Ask the people that actually own them, see if they can get out their own way as you put it..

You dont know what you are talking about...
I have been in a Caravan, and that is nowhere near similar to the Caliber. The caliber is no different than driving a car with an open back end instead of a trunk. I feel as comfortable in it has I do our Fusion, or even the Explorer. It drives and handles great, and has one of the best feels of any car I have been in. You feel like you are sitting higher up, you have great viewing angles, better than any SUV or minivan, and more.
Also, the 2.4 has more than enough power. HP isnt everything, you are showing your limited knowledge on the workings of a vehicle right there. Torque gives you more of that "get out of its own way" feeling than HP.
Also, where a vehicle hits its max torque curve is important. Sure, a car could hit 200 lb/ft of torque, but if its at some outlandish RPM like 6500, where the Caliber can hit its at peak at 5200, you have a better performing vehicle right there. Less revs for better power.
Also, weight is a factor. 200 HP or 2,000 HP, if it cant move the vehicle (which yeah I would think 2,000 could, but you should get what I am saying) better than something with half as much HP, but half as much weight, well then HP doesnt matter does it.
You are just making generalized statements about a vehicle you dont know jack %&$# about. This car has power, better than any other car near its price that I have driven. When you push down the pedal and that CVT matches you right up to 5800-6000 RPM and keeps you there the whole ride up to however fast you are trying to go, you feel the power.
Go drive one for once and dont say stuff until you actually know it for sure. I have been in a turbo PT Cruiser, my grandpa almost got one but got a Liberty instead. Its quick, but it isnt that much better than the Caliber R/T, especially at highway/passing speeds where the R/T and its CVT leave everyone behind, read the reviews.
