I think your salesman was being really optimistic when you ordered a Caliber at the end of March and expected it to arrive by the end of April. No way in hell is Dodge going to build a car for you in less than a month. June is about right as most cars take about 6 to 10 weeks if you have the dealer order it.
I agree, when he told us that, we confirmed it several times as to when he said it would be ready. We sold our other car when the opportunity came along because of his word on delivery. That was the big thing, we could get by with one car for a few weeks, but not two months. It did work out better in the end tho, I got more of a car!

I was thinking about going around to a few dealerships to find a car to buy, but I honestly haven't seen many with them on the lot. I can hold on a bit longer. My stratus is in the garage collecting dust until the caliber arrives, so it's not like I absolutely have to have teh car now (although ... it would be nice...).

I've heard that they don't stay on the lots much longer than several days, might wanna check out http://www.dodge.com and find a dealer with it near you..

Woosh...I couldn't have said it better myself ... lol

Definitely 2K3RTSEDAN, check out the Dodge website, and search through dealership inventories. See what they have, and give them a call

Keep me posted with your search! Let me know if there is anything I can do!

Thanks Kelly S.... I do have one quick question..

My parents also ordered a Caliber, approx. 1-week after I ordered mine. While I have a VIN, and mine has been in "D-Status" for a few weeks now, they don't even have a VIN. Not to mention someone at the 1-800... number told them the "order had been lost" (which was resolved by the Zone Manager for the area we live in...)

Any idea on why my parents seem to be so far behind me? Thanks...

It may have to do with the issue I may be faced with. According to the salesman I talked to, dealers are only alloted so many Calibers. If the dealer sells/orders the allotted amount, then anyone afterwards has to wait until that dealer is alloted to order more Calibers. The dealer I went with may or may not be alloted any Calibers to order for the month of May as they used up their allotted amount in April. If they aren't then I gotta wait until June for my order to go through even though it was placed on May 1st.

2K3RTSEDAN,
Unfortunately I am not aware of the reasoning why your parents Dodge Caliber is behind in production. My apologies [sm=sorry.gif], however, I do suggest to keep speaking wiith your Zone Manager, or the Sales Manager at the DCX dealership you ordered from, asking for an explanation.

If there is anything else I can do, please let me know.

here.. I was told.. that could happen to wait about 3 or 4 month to get a Caliber...

hope.. that is a joke...
is the caliber low production model.. or.. is it a great success... that there is no cars to delivery?
(or may the Euro-specs are made else where?)
is the europe model.. made in US?

Well even people like me in the US are waiting 3 months to get their Caliber in if they ordered them. I ordered mine on May 1st, but the dealer wasn't allotted to order any new Calibers by Dodge, so my order won't acutally go through and placed on the schedule to be built until the dealer I ordered mine from is allotted more Calibers. So I gotta wait and see if they get any allocation for more Calibers in June. If they don't get allocation in June, then I gotta wait until July. Once it gets on the schedule to be built, typically, you'll see your car in approx 6 to 8 weeks (about a 1.5 months).

Not sure how they do the non US versions. I would think they're not built in the US, but rather in an assembly plant elsewhere, but I could be wrong.
