Well, get used to waiting if you ordered from a small dealer----I went through this back in 2000, I ordered a new PT Cruiser in March, and didn't get it until September. I ordered a new Caliber R/T the last week of April, and I don't expect to see it until August or later. Rather have it a bit sooner, my PT is a bit long in the tooth, but it'll get here when it gets here. Could probably get one quicker from a larger dealer with a larger allocation, but I like home-town service, and perhaps I'll avoid some of the first-build blues. Patience, people.

Well, when I buy something, I want it now, not 4 months later! If I wanted it 4 months later then I would wait 4 more months to go get it. I'm the kind of person who will pay an extra $25 to ship something 2nd day or overnight when I buy something online because I can't stand waiting for things to arrive and I raise holy hell when something isn't here on time with the shipping companies. The allocation **** is pure Chrysler bull**** and its no way to treat a customer IMO. If I don't get allocation in June, I'll look around for a dealer that has one and if nobody around here has one I might just say the hell with it, keep my Stratus and cancel the order, therefore, Chrysler loses a sale because of their BS they like to pull.

Around here, even the dealers in the city don't have any Calibers and don't have any allocation to get any either. Makes me wonder where the hell all of these cars are going? Boy am I cranky tonight!

you are like me...

When I want.. I want it for "yesterday"...
I hate to wait...

the "waiting"... makes me time to choose another thing or regret...
I´m too impulsive..

Waiting and allocation will make anybody cranky. At least be glad that so far, at least, dealers aren't doing the gouging they did with the PT----in the early days, dealers were asking anywhere from $2500 to $10K over sticker, and they were getting it, too!! That didn't last long, but it was not unusual to wait anywhere from 6 months to a year to get a new PT back in 2000-2001.

DC isn't going to change the allocation system, despite all the hell that was raised over the PT. Boils down to this, if you want a Caliber now, or very soon, you'll have to do inventory searches, and calling dealers until you find one who has what you want, and is willing to sell it to you. Large dealers get large allocations, small dealers get small or no allocations at first. It's gonna take a while for the pipeline to fill, and it will be unusual to see a Caliber on the lot that isn't a demo "not for sale" car. There's exactly two Calibers in dealer inventory within a 100 mile radius of my location, both are at very large dealers, and neither is for sale at this time, unless, of course, you want to offer them a substantial amount over sticker, LOL

That definitely is an option I’d suggest…on the Dodge Website, utilizing ‘Dealer Inventory’, there is an option under ‘advance search’ to increase the radius search, you are able to locate DCX dealerships as far as you choose.

Also when you do the search you don't want to do the inventory search on the Dodge site though as it's not that good, it will only show you inventory from 5 star dealers, any other Dodge dealers it ignores, it's better to go to the find a dealer search as that will also show non 5 star dealers and then go to their sites seperately and check their inventory, I know around me the non 5 star dealer had Calibers before any of the 5 star ones actualy did.

Also its getting to the point where the website lies. It shows Calibers in stock for dealers and they don't have them. Some have been on the website for 2 or 3 weeks with no Calibers on the lot.

It's been awhile since I've posted here, but I figured if I didn't know anything why put anything up? There's been some news...

- Two weeks ago I was notified of a tentative ship date of June 19, 2006
- Last week my parents spoke with the salesman (about their car) and he told them my car was shipping June 13
- The car arrived at the dealership on Wednesday the 14th, and ready to go yesterday...

I pick it up today around 4:30!!!!!!!!

It only took four freaking months... HA!

Good luck to the rest of you guys (and girls) trying to get ahold of one...
