Waiting For My Caliber
During late 2002, I became the proud owner of my 2003 R/T Stratus Sedan. Good looking car, fun enough to drive for me and it was my first new car purchase. In just over 3 years of driving (55,000 miles) it's been in the shop 13 times (for various head banging reasons...) on to bigger and better!
I ordered my 2007 Caliber SXT on February 22...still waiting for it to arrive (should be very very soon). The run-down...
2007 Caliber SXT (non-sport -the color inserts suck...) generously equipped w/:
- Aluminum Wheels
- Fog Lamps
- Security Group
- Driver Group
- 6-disc Stereo Sound System
- Music Gate Sound System
- 2.0 liter w/ CVT2
- Inferno Red Pearlcoat
- Slate Grey delux cloth interior
For those of you that ordered yours...how long did you wait for delivery? Just curious....

Dealerships generally quote 8-12 weeks. They are ideal to follow, due to they handle the ordering, shipping and receiving end of the ordering procedure. However, you can call Daimler Chrysler Customer Assistance Center - 1-800-992-1997, and supply them with your VIN or VON, and they will be able to inform you where your vehicle is at in the production process.
Hope this provides you with an idea. Let me know if there is anything else I can do

I got my VIN and called the Customer Service Centre and was kindly provided a ship date of April 24th (Woohooo!!!!). Now there was an additional piece of info I was given but the representatove could not expound on it and instead refered me to the Delaership. I did not get a straight answer from the sales guy i talked to at the dealership though - hence decided to try you and for the benefit of all on this forum. So to cut to the chase

What does it mean when there is a "B" or "D" status on a car?
Thanks in advance!

As for the meaning of B and D status;
B status = The dealership has placed the order, the paper work has been processed, but there is no scheduled production date at that time.
D status = The vehicle is in the process of actually being built. However, you mentioned that you have a 'VIN' number, a vehicle may remain in D status right up to the shipping date.
Hope this helped out
