Default question from Moscow

Greetings to all! I'm waiting for my Caliber 1.8 SE and on next week I’ll have it, but I have one question to Caliber owners. Here (in Russia) no one exept dealers can't answer me what fuel use this engine. Premium, (our 95) Regular (our 92). i know this sound silly but it is... [] and sorry for my bad English…

Welcome!!! I would have thought that you'll be fine with Regular fuel. I've been told that only high performance cars benefit from Premium petrol. Is there much difference in price betwen the 2 grades? It's about another 5% here.

On this side of the Atlantic, hehehe, the Caliber is designed for regular gas, 87 or 89 octane, and since all Calibers are manufactured in good old Belevidere, Illinois, USA, I would think that gasoline versions use Regular gas.

92... 87.. 89.. octane..

here in Portugal.. and I guess in the rest of Europe too...
there is no such "petrol"...

only 95, 98 and 100 (premium)...

I guess that 95 will be the "best choice"...

fLAVIO

here the 100 octane cost 1,50€/LT... [:@]

As far as I know, your Octane ratings in Europe are different as well (the way it is measured)...?
Research Octane Number (RON) vs. Motor Octane Number (MON)?

Is that right- Tundra, can you confirm perhaps?

Hey Guys...

Welcome russiaman! I'm curious, have you spoke with any DCX dealerhsip's in your area? Speaking with the Service department, they will be able to assist you with this question.

At the same time, you can visit DaimlerChrysler's International website... http://www.international.chryslercorp.com/cindex.html
This may be able to provide you with some information.

Hope this helps Let me know if there is anything else I can do!
