Boy this car moves out
I waited till i got atleast 4000 miles on it before any pedaling to the floor and boy this thing has some power for a 4 cylinder.I read a report about it being a little sluggish but that aint the problem with mine.I couldnt even imagine what its like with 300 hp and turbo cause this this will take care of itself as it is.
The 5 speed should be quite a bit faster, in theory a CVT could beat a 5 speed but chrysler used and older design lower tech CVT in the Caliber which causes slugish performance and lower than a standard auto fuel economy.

Mine doesnt have older version of tranny.Mine is a CVT2 and it has no sluggish feeling at all.
Dodge Caliber’s CVT2 is a second-generation CVT that Chrysler Group engineers have calibrated for precise ratio control and an AutoStick® feature that allows for manual control with the simulation of six stepped gears. CVT2 contributes to a fuel economy improvement of 6-8 percent compared with a traditional 4-speed automatic.

Chryslers CVT-2 is an old gen CVT (2nd gen to Chrysler but way behind current CVT technology), and while they say it's 6-8% better fuel economy that's 100% percent false, for example, a FWD Caliber with the 2.4L and CTV gets 24/27, the FWD Sebring which is almost 150lbs heavier with the same 2.4L and a traditinoal 4 speed auto gets 24/32, making the CVT almost 16% worse highway and only the same city.
