I was wondering what transmissions were compatable with the 1999 dodge caravan with a 2.4. The transmission that came out was a 3 speed 31th or the a413 whichever you want to call it and want to replace it with the same. are there other dodge vehicles with the same transmission that will work in my caravan??? One junkyard told me that only a transmission from a 99 will work in a 99 caravan some how I think he is lying. I called Advance Auto Parts and the want $1044 for a new one with a 15 month/ 15,000 mile warranty. Another junkyard told me that I could get a reman for 1150 and I told him I would buy a new one for $1044 first from Advance Auto Parts. Anyway my girlfriend loves driving it I just get to maintain it and am a little surprised that the transmission went at 130,000 miles if you are curious to see the damage to the inside of the transmission I will take pictures upon request

A late 1998 would work, a 2000 wouldn't. But you could find out what the dealer wants for a reman trans. I know for a fact the warranty is 3/36.
