Default 2001 Caravan Sport transmission problems

Wife put hole in transmission pan. I am sure she tried to move it without enough fluid. Replaced the pan and filter, put in 4 qts. When put in forward or reverse it has tohave high rpms to engage and the transmission fluid is foamy. Any suggestions thanks

You may have air in the fluid, causing the foam. Let Ilde for a few mins and reck . you may need to add more fluid.

I don't know specifically for the 41TE (the tranny in your van), but many will slowly drain a lot more fluid than what is in the pan if you just leave them sitting with the pan open (or in this case with a hole in it), so don't assume that it only needs 4 qts. Fill, check, fill, check, etc until the level is correct.

It is very easy to over fill also. I siphoned excess out of my transmission when I replaced it.
