? for 2008 owners
Hi we are thinking of getting a 2008 Grand Caravan in the future. Wedrove the Honda and Toyota today and only "looked" at a couple of unlocked Caravans on the lot (dealer was closed). It appears that Dodge has a great van. We liked it more than the other two, but had one majorconcern. with cloth seats the second row seats looked so thin and flimsy compared to the others.. They actually were very comfortable to sit in but we wonder how do the feel on a long trip. do they offer enough padding and support to be comfortable? Are they safe? TIA
When we were test driving vans, the dealership let us have a Caravan with cloth seats overnight. During the time, I sat in the second row seats for an hour ride, and I was quite surprised at how comfortable those seats are.
i have an 08 grand caravan.
my likes: comfy seats, tons of options, its a dodge.
my dislikes: alot less leg room in the rear seat with the swivel and go option, alot less legroom compared to the 07 and earlier models. within the first month, the in dash mygig radio shot craps, the screen went berzerk and it took 3 weeks to get a new radio. the rear sliding doors have a problem, on alot of the vans and chrysler dont know how to fix it( they intermittantly wont close when you push the button to close them, or they close almost all the way and kick back open) mine still hvent been fixed. the 6 speed trans is a joke. it shifts NON STOP, i'm glad it has a lifetime warranty on it, i dont see it lasting a few really hot summers. FUEL MILEAGE IS AWEFUL 15mpg is as good as it gets with the 3.8l engine, my 98 town and country with the 3.8 got 23mpg.

Thanks for the replies. Guess they are more comfortable on a long trip than they look. When we test drove one the salesman showed off the power door opening with the remote. He didnt notice that another brand new wan was so close and he put a nice scuff onthe othervan! After that he kept hitting the button to open and close the door with no luck.I assumed it blew a fuse or something since it had hit that van after 1/2 dozen attempts it mysteriously worked again..... seems like a pattern!
