New here!

I am very picky about when I use recirc and when I don't. I hate car exhaust fumes and I basically ALWAYS want recirc on. On my "new" 06 Grand Caravan I see that Dodge has helpfully wired things such that recirc turns off automatically when I use the defroster. I know it works better/faster and I don't care.

Can someone recommend a hack, jumper, or workaround so that turning on the defroster won't immediately turn off the recirc? I am plenty comfortable working and soldering behind the dash so don't hesitate to suggest something tricky.

Aside from that minor issue I am absolutely loving my new ride. Thanks all for the help and the great resources on this site.

 

You may not much help on this problem, because the system is working the way it should. If you what to research a way, try a service manual under wiring.

 

Sure, so what's the recommended manual and is there a convenient link somewhere on the site to get it? Sorry, still new here. I know various publishers cover these vehicles so I want to be sure I get the best one. Thanks.

 

Have you tried a dodge manual? Thats what I would look for information.

 

Interesting, I would have thought Chilton or Haynes would be recommended over OEM but like I said, I'm new to the scene. I see that the Dodge OEM manuals actually look quite good so I'll keep an eye out and give it a try. Thanks.

 

the answer is right in your dodge manual, the one that came with your van.
