Default Sliding door problem

Readin and looking through the arichves on this forum I see that many folks here have problem with the electr. sliding doors. I have a 2008 and a 2004 Caravan and both have issues with it.

This post is about the 2004 Caravan.

Since a few weeks the sliding door behind the driver only opens and closes up to a certain point, than stops.

I have lubricated the chain and looked for cracks in the wiring but to no avail.

Anu idea what could cause this and how could it be solved?

Take a look at the bottom track and see if there is anything blocking it such as dirt or possibly a toy. Your schlepp cable shouldn't be oiled or greased. That may cause issues with it retracting or opening.

Check all of that.

BTW, the door is not retracking or opening or closing mid way, it just STOPS.

You need to have a scan tool hook up to remove codes out the door modules. You could have a bad actuator.

I had this same exact issue, but it was with the passenger side. I took it to the dealership and they replaced the covered wire bundle and the issue went away. I have a 05 grand btw.
