Default 1999 Caravan Befuddled

Ok Heres what I have in a nut shell. Have a 1999 Caravan 3.0. Had a starting problem and jiggled the solenoid wire it started but lost the speedo and got stuck in 2nd gear. Replaced both the input and out put sensor and still have the same problem. Replaced the out put sensor again thinking I may have got a bad one and double checked the connections which all seem good and tight. Cant believe that this all started with a starting problem, but am now wondering
if these two are connected in some way. Will admit I'm a Ford guy but you would think this would be a basic problem. I need some Chrysler guys to help me out. Am I missing something? Any help will be highly appreciated!!!!
Thanks, Don

Pull on the wires going into the output sensor, if it comes out then you had a broken wire. You can send a pm if you want to know more.

Ok guys just checked the obvious turned out the p1698 code was just a bad ground that caused the p0500 code Turns out this is a pretty common problem especially with the cheap battery terminals the put on these vans. Thanks for all your help!
