Default Nav Radio has gone CrAzY!

My 2005 Grand Caraan has the Navigation radio with DVD. Recently the display has started to go crazy. The radio still works great but the screen for long periods of time will go blank. I'll drive down the road and out of nowhere it will flicker like it's trying to come back on and won't. Eventually it flickers and comes on. These periods can be an hour or more or can be relatively short. It will also work fine for a few days and then go back to this again. What is up with this thing?

The attached picture is what it looks like when it goes out. Any ideas on what this could be?

Looks to me like a software problem. If it was an electrical problem wouldn't the screen be black?

Default Nav problem

Did any of you happen to figure out the problem for this? Got in my 2006 Ram tonight and the same thing happened? Was wondering if it might be a battery problem. but truck fired up fine. Any thoughts?
