need advice 96 grand caravan lighting problem
ok my brother has a 96 grand caravan and he put aftermarket driving lights on it and he didnt use a relay when he taped in to the high beam wire and it blowed the fuse we replaced that and now the head lights will not go off and now the int lights stay on also only way to kill the headlights is to disconnect the batt what could be wrong ith it and how do we fix it?? please help
Chances are that he has fried the harness. Now the wires are shorted together.
If you are lucky, the headlight relay is damaged and stuck.
Also could be the body control module (depending on the options).
Buy the Chilton book. It has wiring info inside.
A good Meter should help you zero in on the short.
Good luck,

First thing I would is start over. Remove everything and try the lites. If the lites are working normal. Either leave it alone or find another way of hooking your driving lites. Your caravan does have a BCM that your controls the lites.
On my 96 GC, If you turn off the key before you turn off the headlights, they stay lit for X amount of time, as do the int cabin lights.
I was under the impression the BCM controled this delay.
Where would he find the delay, if equiped?
Could the delay circut be stuck closed?
