Default Error P0442 on my 2002 Caravan

I've done some research on it, I've already tried two different gas caps and it hasn't changed anything which leads me to believe it's one of the other possibilities. The problem is that I have no idea where to start. Where should I be looking for stuff like the Evap system? Would I be able to fix it myself? If not, how much is it likely going to cost? Any ideas would be very helpful.

Also, if it makes any difference the ODB had a red light and would not let me erase it.

I checked and I did find a cracked hose which I have replaced. The check engine light is still on, I'm assuming that I may need to drive it a little bit before it goes away. I also realized that I was using the ODB incorrectly and have found out that I also have 0445 which I know is pretty much the same as 0442 and I also have 1491. So I'm thinking that I might have a little more work to do on the car. Any ideas?

P1491 is for the fan relay. could be a bad relay or fuse. Or even the fan module itself.

Well, the errors 0442 and 0455 are still there even after a few days, not sure where to go from here. As for 1491, I checked the fuse listed as "FAN/RAD" with a fuse checker and it seems to be fine, what could be wrong with the actual module short of not working, which I assume would mean that my car would overheat.

There could be other problems, but without seeing the van it would be hard to tell you. First place i would try is a shop that can smoke the evap system, or the dealer.

above all if u ckeck and problem still comes,

i would say try checking by yourself first if u can, problem is i think is your Gas pipe, which runs from below gas cap to tank that must be rusty at neck...for sure....this is common problem in Dodge caravan.gives code P0442 and P0455

Check this out.my 2 cent advice. and post back after fix for others to get knowledge

Your car won't overheat as long as it's in motion, but if it idles while stopped or in heavy traffic it'll get hot fast because the fan
doesn't kick in.

I just dealt with this same code, radiator fan relay. The part cost $70 at
my dodge dealer, about an hour to put in myself. It's a pain to get at, I
pulled the grill out to make it easier. It's riveted onto the bumper frame
on the drivers side, I used self tapping screws to put the new one in.
I'm not the best mechanic & was able to do it fairly easily, the hardest
part was getting at the damned thing.
