Default '02 with door open indicator on

Van has a little over 100k and recently the door open indicator
comes on, overhead lights come on, I think it's tied to the
passenger side door, but not sure where or how to see the
sensors to check that out.

Help with this please as it's driving my wife crazy
Thanks,
G2

Default Door Open

Check the door push buttons on the center post or rear vertical body support (for sliding door).

Thanks, I'll check those out tomorrow in the daylight, do I have to pop covers
inside the van off to view inside?

and this one has manual open and close doors, 2002 vintage.

Default Lights On

Just open the doors and look for the switch (should be a button like switch that the door pushes in when it closes), switch is probably attached to the body by two screws, you can push the switch by hand to see if it moves in and out and the lights go on and off, also if it is sticking I would take it out and lubricate it with some WD-40.

Not quite that easy, one of the newer vans I guess,
no visible switch to see nor push on this one!

Default Lights On

Well maybe, but on my '96, the light switch/s are located on the front doors (both sides) only, on the body support beam and just below the rod that the jaws of the door lock grab (switches are black buttons that depress and pop out). Also, remember there is a timer relay that keeps the dome light on for several seconds after you shut the door, and the dimmer rheostat on the IP with the light switch if rotated full up puts the dome light on until the control wheel is brought down and out of the full up position.

Checked again, no luck with this 2002, must be hidden somewhere
will check the book stores tomorrow for a Chilton that hopefully will
cover where the switches are.

I do see wires running along the lower portion of the sliding door
but haven't taken the door paneling off yet, worried I'll crack something
and it might be the wrong one to take off, so safer than sorry in this case.

Thanks for the response though, appreciate it,
G2

Gary-did you ever get this figured out? My '02 is doing the same thing but it's something with the rear lift gate.

No, not yet, it stopped yesterday, as it sometimes does, had an appointment
with a local dealer to check it out, they said about an hour just to figure which
door was the culprit, but, if it's not doing it, they'd not be able to tell, so I called
and cancelled my appointment today.

I also read on line that it's possibly a wire that has fatigued to the point of breaking
within the insulation, too much flexing, I THOUGHT it might be the driver's door but
nothing is certain.

SO, I started to remove the driver's door plastic, stopped pretty quick as I figured I'd
tear it up or damage the edges, nothing comes free easily

I'll post when and if this does get resolved.

Mine is definitely something with the rear lift gate. I just hopped in to take my son to town. I opened the rear gate to let the dog in for the ride too. Closed the door and went to check the oil. My son says the back door popped open (not all the way) and the interior lights came on. I have to use the key to open the door so I did that and it did it again, 2 more times. Finally it stayed shut. It will only open part way. I can't use the handle to open it the rest of the way. What gives there? I had it at a garage and they said they had the actuator arm disconnected so it shouldn't pop open. Guess not. It's happened to my wife before a few times. She drives it way more than me. She didn't catch it one time and it drained the battery. Possessed.
