i think either is fine.
the 5w30 is same (5) when cold, and a tad thicker (30) when warm.
10w30 is a tad thicker at both temps.

5w30 might be a little better choice for a winter oil.

The three most popular motor oils on the store shelves here these days are 10W-30 (most common), 5W-20 and 5W-30 (least common). Does your manual give you choices?
The 3.3L / 3.8L engines in the new Vans are calling for 5W-20 whereas the 4.0L, a more sophisticated engine apparently, calls for 10W-30. Go figure.

If stuck with using 5W-30, I wouldn't worry about it unless you have warranty considerations. I use 10W-30 mostly in my 3.3L and may switch to a 5W-20 or 30 for the cold months of winter.

I've found (bought and used) full synthetic 5W-20 for my '05 3.3L V-6 at WalMart.

I have also seen 5W-20 convential and full syn at Autozone and Advance Auto Parts in Maryland.
