Default Caravan newbie questions

After getting the wife a van and relizing we are using it when we go out more than the car.

I'm thinking i may replace the LHS with a Grand Caravan or Town@ Country.

Tested a few and relized the ES has an upgraded suspention equil to the t@c.

Apperently called Touring makes sence as my intrepid ES was better.

Love the upscale T@c with leather (but that can be added easy)

The thing that interested me with the ES was autostick!

Seen 2 in the area, my buddy has one of them.

Has anyone investagated to see if it is already in the electronics like a lh body?

If it is than a/s in a T@c could be added relitively easy.

Was a/s an option or did it come with the 17" wheels (not seen a a/s without 17's)

Has anyone put a console and floor shifter in a caravan?

No vans before 2008... I think, came with 17 or 18's. why would you wan the autostick on a van. all it does is manual allow your to play with shifting but the computer will override you when you try to do something it doesn't like. I had a few vans with this feature and never used it. never had a reason. I even had a stratus and an intrepid and to, I never used it. I can to the same thing with my scanner. although with my Miller tool tester, I can actually select each gear and totally over-ride the trans computer but still why bother. There really isn't much difference in suspension other than swaybars. But the top t&c is the Limited version which comes with heated leather.

I own an 03 T&c limited and it came with 16's and an 03 is pretty close to your claim of early 00's. So I checked all Gen3 vans and none came with anything bigger than 16's.autostick is totally useless, but then some people get off having more control even though it has no real value other than stroking one's ego

Well i guess the crusaders on my buddies 01 are 16" then, I wonder how he got the 17" tires on them.

A/s also allows a second gear start off ,helpfull in snow etc.

Auto stick does NOT allow 2nd gear starts. Your buddy probably has aftermarket wheels. So before you make any more statements, it is best to know the facts so you don't look incorrect

Do an e-bay search for grand caravan es and see the 17" wheels ...or were they in Canada only.

The 2000 had 17's. I have a 2000 GCV ES ans it has autostick and 17's. I also have the original window sticker that shows all of the options including the 17's. It is a US version.

You should follow your own suggestion.

Just look on any of the MOPAR online parts sites and you will see that the 17's were available on the 2000's. or for that matter, just look in the owners manual or the factory repair manual. ALL show the 17" option.

That's because 17's were not available on a T&C. If you look at a 2000 Grand Caravan ES you will find that Tire Rack has them listed--215/60-17.

All versions were not available with all options, the Voyager did not have 17's either.
