Default Squeal when cold

I just purchased a 2007 Grand Caravan SXT. When it is cold there is a squeal that sounds like the powersteering being oversteered but it is there all the time. after it warms up the noise goes away untill you come back and start it up when it is cold. Is this normal, has anyone else had a problem like this? Dealer want's $60 to look at it and diagnose the problem.

any squeeling is NOT normal. So instead of going to a dealer, isn't there any other reputable repair facilities.

Depends how you define squeal. Most common cause is plugged filter in P.S. fluid reservoir. Once the P.S. fluid heats up, it softens the crud and swirls it around. Then it settles and hardens when it gets cold again.

I will check the belt and filter in the resivoir. It definatly is associated with the power steering since the noise get's worse when you turn and goes away when it warms up.

I expect low fluid or a plugged screen, see it all the time.

I vacumed out the old fluid and replaced it with new fluid and the noise went away.
