I've got a 93 Grand Caravan, as you can imagine, it's getting along in years but it's still got plenty of life left in it.

I'm at the point now where even if I slam the sliding door closed with all my strength (I'm afraid I'm going to shatter the windows one of these days) and I still get the "Door Ajar" light and "bong."

What part on the door makes the connection? Is there an adjustment I can make? Where are the contacts?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

 

There is a button. If you keep slamming the crap out of your door, you'll screw up the door and latch assembly. The button is adjustable or you can just unplug it.

 

99 percent of time the sliding door switch is the cause, it is easy to replace. Flat blade screwdrive a pry the old one out and install new one in the D-pillar and slam the shut. the switch will adjust its self.
