Default 2002 2.4L dash lights issue

I have a 2002 caravan 2.4L. The dash lights are not working. I do have the PRNDL dash lights on and the clock on the radio light is on but all of the other dash lights are off. The Switch operates the headlights and the overhead lights both working fine. Rotating the wheel however does not turn on the dash panel lights. Any suggestions? Could this be a ground issue? Should I remove the cluster? Confused since the interior overhead lights work. Could this be a fuse? Thanks JRR

First ck for any blown fuses with a 12v test lite, before removing the cluster. When did the lites stop working? And where you working on something under the hood when it did?

Yes. Water pump blew. Had pump, oil seals, timing belt, serpentine belt and tensioner replaced since we had to open the engine. Ever since then no dash lights or console lights working. Only overhead interior, PRNDL, time and radio lights working. Which fuse do I check? Thanks!! JRR

I would ck all fuses in the PDC first, thats the box under the hood. but remember just looking at the fuse will not tell you if it good. If you don't have a test lite, ask someone who does. Or a DVOM (digital volt ohm meter ).

Thanks - I have a digital volt ohm meter. AM I looking for continuity or specific voltage on the relays? Should I only check the plastic fuses or the relays as well?
Thanks...JRR

You'll be looking for voltage. 12v at the fuses. That will the plastic fuses.

could have been shorted out with water and maybe the water evaporated or you have a bad ground . it will take a trouble shooting to find the problem wait till it comes back if it does. You may never see the lights go out again if not then I would assume that it was watered down enough to keep them form working .

make sure you check both sides of the fuse with a volt meter for voltage and if one side has none then the fuse is blown that is ground the black lead to ground and the other lead probe both sides of the fuse . If you have 12 volts on both sides then you have a good fuse , another way is to measure across the fuse and if you have 12 volts it is open
