I apprieciate the reply, can you provide a little more detail? Do you mean pry the tap light cover and from where the right left, top bottom. Where is the the catch located?
Pretty rare for the 'bulb' to fail as it's a LED type. Fuse 14 runs it. to remove the CMTC it looks like there is one screw at the front of the unit then it says to just pop out as there are clips that secure it into the housing. just to ask a totally stupid question, did you verify that it's actually on. there's a button which can turn off the unit or toggle thru the different features such as fuel milage, DTE, etc

There are two map lights, one works, the one on the passenger side doesn't. Don't know what is wrong yet need to get inside to look. I assume there are powered as a pair, if so then the fuse would not be the problem. I can turn the left light on and off by pressing the cover switch, the right side does not work at all. Will take another look tonight. Thanks.
those lights you just pop out with a screwdriver. There are other 'lights' in the overhead console... my bad was under the impression you meant something else.
you pry the lens down where it pivots and slip it out. The bulb and socket are one piece. The surface where the bulb makes contact will probably be burnt so clean it before putting in a new bulb and bent the contacts of the new bulb up away from the socket so better contact will be made.
