Default 08 Caravan Rear Brakes.

I am trying to compress the piston on the rear brakes. I have been screwing the piston for a lil while now, it seems its not stopping. It just keeps rotating. Is this normal?

It should screw in and bottom out. If it turns and does not go in then it is faulty.

I got one rear side fine, but the other side just won't go in at all, it just screws.

If you get lucky, the dealer might still warrenty it. Yes you need a new caliper. The only issue I've had is the piston boot tearing when I turn the piston in. I've never had one not turn in yet.

I hate that, sometimes when they twist like that, the boot tears and once again you'd need a new caliper. If it didn't tear, then you should be ok because it will staighten back out when the piston screws back out.

Ok.. Thanks.. Yeah I can see how that would be annoying.. It seems like these vans just eat through brakes also.. I'm not sure what the deal is.. This will be the 2nd set of pads that we have put on this van since new. Once at 17k and now at 37k.. 20k for pads is ridiculous..

Amen!! We don't design them but we sure take alot of crap for bad designs. Our dealer is covering the brakes up to around 20k. Doesn't do much for you with your second set.
