REMOVAL
NOTE: If transmission control module is being replaced with a new or replacement unit, the Pinion Factor and Quick Learn procedures must be performed.
NOTE: If transmission control module is being replaced with a new or replacement unit, the Pinion Factor and Quick Learn procedures must be performed.
- Disconnect battery negative cable.
- Raise vehicle on hoist.
- Remove left front tire/wheel assembly.
- Pull back splash shield to gain access to TCM location.
- Disconnect TCM 60-way connector.
- Remove three (3) TCM-to-rail screws and remove TCM from vehicle.
Crap, I can't do that job, I cant get past step 2. Now what do I do? Is there some other tool I could use in place of #2?
IDK what a 1996 has to do with this man's post. I guess I could have wrote 'on my 1995 the tcm is on the firewall' but that sure wouldn't do much good for someone with a 1996 where the tcm is on the inner fender in front of the strut tower on the passenger side
