Default 2002 caravan .. abs light.

Hello all new to the scene.. ok.. I just bought a 2002 Caravan SE with the 3.8L in it.. now the van seemed to be doing great until the alternator went out in it.. so i replaced alt. and battery.. also while the battery was detached.. i also replace the blower motor resister for the heat and a/c now i was driving to work this morning and i smell a burning plastic smell like a wire is overheated and burning.. and then my abs light came on.. also my temp and direction gauge at roof panel has went out.. can anyone help me figure this out.. Thanks you may email me personally or on here doesn't matter. i can fix it once i know where to start to look.. also could it be the new resister.. as i only smell the burning smell once i turn the heat/ac on..

Start by looking for what was burning and go from there. Look under van for any damage or does the smell coming from wires going to the resistor. If the ABS lite is on ck for stored codes and maybe that will lead you toward the problem.

from what i can tell there are no code's being thrown the only one that is coming up is the P1684(battery disconnected within the last 50 cranks) other than that nothing.. as for the burning smell it is only when i turn on the heat or air.. so im thinking the resister.. if i put fan on high you don't really smell it.. but any other speed it smells.. also my temp and dircetion indicator quick working as well once i hooked the new battery up.. which today after work im going to check all fuses.. and recheck the connection to the resistor.. maybe put some die electric grease on it.. for better connection.

To ck for ABS codes, you need to get the codes from the ABS module. The PCM will only store PCM codes and one transmission code=P0700, thats it.
