van no go why?
i hope someone can help me because nobody can figure this out. the family van don't move at all. its a 1999 caravan. someone said replace the sensors, so i went to autozone and bought 3 sensors for the transmission and replaced them all. the one on the back was kinda hard to get right. I had it in too far and a terrible racket came out, I had it out too far and it wouldn't start. when I got it right it ran fine. there there are 2 other sensors on the front I think they are in and out sensors. I did both and still the van don't move. I spend almost $100 for these 3 sensors w/o it working and autozone won't take them backSo I check around the the net and find where everyone is saying a solinoid pack is the problem. I bought a new one @ $250+ tax from a local trans shop. Autozone didn't have one in stock. So I put it in, managed to break one of the bolts, went to every store looking for a replacement. Wouldn't you know metric and no place had one. Next day rolls around and I go back to the trans shop, they didn't have one either. So I went to Fastenal. The found me one that will work ($1.50 later for one bolt). Anyway, I got it all back together today and no go. Still won't move at all. I'm at my wits end. I've got nearly $400 stuck into this thing. I had to put the cost of these parts against my credit card which is already over max. I need this van running asap so I can get to work. I'm only borrowing a car from a friend and I hate doing that.
Welcome to DF
First you'll going to need to pull some codes out of the TCM and post. Once the codes have been posted, we or i can give some kind of answer. Just guessing are hearing grinding noise and does the transmission roll in park, with the park brake off?

i dont know what a TCM is. I did this thing called a key dance and I dont get anything that looks like codes I find on the internet. I start the van, put it in reverse and nothing. no noise or nothing. I put it L nothing, put it in 3, nothing, put it in D nothing. it feels like its in park or neutral.
Okay. then the drive axles are okay. The key dance is to find out what codes are stored in the PCM( power control module) the TCM ( transmission control module) needs a scanner to pull the stored codes.
If the fluid level is at the proper level, maybe the shift cable is broken?????
There should be some kind of reaction to shift lever movements IF the van was driving all right to get to the place where it died. There has to be some symptoms other than it just quit moving.
Was it slow going into gear after sitting overnight?
Is there a fluid leak?
Has the vans transmission ever went into "limp mode" or "bump shift"?
Here's a link that might help.

He said that the van doesn't move at all in reverse or any drive ranges. He also stated that they replace sensors without pulling any codes, because they didn't know what a TCM is. They have never stated either if the fluid level was check. So if there was at least one code, it would P0944 for loss of prime. And that would cause limp in mode or fail safe. The bump shift that you called it, is really called stop bump. Until they post more information, this way all of us can help.

I knew that. Like i said in the 2nd post. Pull codes so all of us have some kind of ideal in which way that we can help. So far they are not writing back with any information. Thanks with the good questions.
