I want to know if it's true that Mopar oil can only be gotten at Dodge dealerships? It it unique only to their service locations?

Depends on what oils you are looking for. I am sure there some part stores that will tell you, what you are buy is the same as mopar oil.

 

But is it the same though? Is Mopar oil only available at Dodge or can I get at any other place that changes oil? I was told by Dodge that if I wanted to change my oil I would have to get the filter completely cleaned out and then I can put a different type of oil. Is Mopar oil worth me having to go all the way to the Dodge dealership to have it changed there? Is it better for the car?

 

You do realize that MOPAR does not produce any oil, it is done by a major refinery and them labeled MOPAR. So use any oil you feel comfortable with (and a good quality filter).

 

Mopar oil used to be Mobil oil, now I think they partner with Pennzoil.
