Default grinding while accelerating...

Today my van has started to make me mad. I was driving along and when I accelerated after a stoplight it started making a grinding sound. I stopped at a 4 way stop and when I accelerated into the left turn it started grinding again. I took my foot off the accelerator and it stopped. In another turn it started again and when I straightened out the wheel it stopped again. Please help!

Does it make the noise turning one way and not the other?

Could be brakes, wheel bearings or CV joint.

it did it mainly while turning left and it did it on a few straight aways...hubby said it sounds like transmission is slipping. But to me it sounds like something is rubbing on the wheel.

Sounds like a cv joint ....or a misaligned caliper.

It could be the front brake pads are worn down to the wear indicator or the anit-rattle/squeal material is worn down.

How many miles on the van and how many are on the brake pads?

checked the caliper and hub assembly...goin today to have them check the cv joint.

2002ACRNEON-I just had the brakes done not long ago so we ruled that out of a possiblility. Thanks for the thought though because thats what I thought at first too.
