Default GC 2005 ABS Sensor

Hi guys

Just curious, i have both the abs & the brake light on . I am assuming it is a faulty ABS sensor. Can we replace only the ABS sensor in the GC 2005 or we have to replace the whole hub/bearing assy ? If only the sensor can be replaced, any guide/link on how to test/replace would be really appreciated. I bough the haynes shop manual but it's useless they say nothing about abs system.

Thank you

First you need to find out what the ABS codes are, and post.

Don't know if this will help or not... and I don't know if the 05 has traction control...but my 06 has both traction control and ABS and I have read that they are very closely related, electronics wise.

I had both the ABS and the traction control lights both come on...for a while last year it was intermittant...then, this winter, both came on and stayed on...was the wifee's car and was worried about her not havin the ABS...so I took it in. They found a bad speed sensor on the rear and replaced it. I never had the brake warning light come on, so I thought maybe that would help you...probably not a speed sensor, but more to do with brake components

Thanks for help guys...

The OBD2 reader i have (3100) doesn't read the ABS codes i think. I will find someone that can read the codes and i'll post it here. My GC doesn't have traction control.

My TCS light came on, but I ignored it for a couple of weeks. Then the ABS light came on, so I took it to the dealer. It was caused by a single speed sensor on the front right wheel; $63 part, $77 labor. FP Number 4683470-AD, SENSOR AN 5005005

maybe a dumb question...
I know I posted above that I had a speed sensor replced in the rear...

But does that mean my 06 GC has ABS in the front AND the rear? (I know it has disc brakes at the rear)

just asking cuz I need a rear wheel bearing replaced and they asked if it had ABS in the rear... (?) (2 different prices on the bearing, whether it has rear ABS or not..)

If you have ABS, it is all 4 wheels. Only trucks have just rear wheel ABS.
