I'm not sure about the availability of online info. The crank sensor has a 5v feed, a sensor ground and the sensor signal. The scan tool usually just tells you if you have a good signal or not. You test the signal with a lab scope, it's a sign wave type of deal. Same with cam sensors. TPS and MAP are 5v feeds with a linear signal. TPS is low at idle and goes up with throttle.

So should I get the flicker in the sensor signal with the crank sensor as I did in the coil?

Too fast of an on/off time to get a flicker. Shouldn't try to test a crank sensor with a test light.

Gotcha. Thanks. Just bought a crank sensor. I'll see what replacing it does. Thanks for your help.

Well, at least I have a new crank sensor. I now have the following codes: P0700, Trans controller Fault; P0685, ASD Relay relay control circuit; P0627, Fuel Pump relay control circuit; P0700 is brand new. I can hear the fuel pump coming on, so I don't know what that code could mean. I'm really beginning to wonder if my PCM is bad. What do ya'll think?

Today I found a blue connector under the ICM?/fuse-relay box in the engine compartment. A standard relay (i.e. starter relay) will plug into this connector. Does anyone know what it's for? I haven't noticed it before I had this problem.

Don't worry about the connector. You might want to check you PCM for powers and grounds with a test light. Also check the 5v feed to the TPS or MAP to make sure it is there.

Thanks. Do you think the P0700 code is related? The van ran great prior to shutting off at the stop sign. We had the recall done early on with the trans. connector, I don't remember which, and I haven't received any other recall notices since.

It's possible that everything was set during testing, I wouldn't concentrate on the trans code until it runs. The only other thing I've seen take these down is shorting the 5v feed to the sensors.

All these have the 5v feed to them. Disconnect any sensor and check for 5v key on.
